Kristen Roy Scholarship Fund
Kristen Roy Cordiano graduated from Kingswood-Oxford in 2000 and traveled for the first time to Tobati as a chaperone during the 2004 service trip. Following college graduation that same year, she was part of the inaugural "Year of Service" team that lived and volunteered in Tobati supporting various educational and medical projects. The primary goal was to support the newly constructed Macchi School which is fully funded by Team Tobati. During this time, she taught seven English classes at varying age and education levels and established a school milk program for impoverished children living in rural Tobati.
Kristen’s aunt, Nancy Roy, joined Team Tobati on its trip to Tobati in 2005. When she learned that $50.00 would educate a child for a year, she established the Kristen Roy Scholarship Fund in her niece’s honor. Her intention was to provide a deserving child not only an education for a year, but school supplies and medical attention as well. Since its inception, the fund has helped to provide an education for many deserving students in Tobati.
