Team Tobati 2026 - Los Angeles Group
Team Tobati’s Los Angeles branch celebrated an incredible fourth annual service learning trip to Paraguay from March 21 to 29, 2026. The trip was a resounding success filled with connection, growth, and meaningful impact.
Participants spent an unforgettable week in Tobati, a small town about two hours outside the capital city, engaging in a powerful combination of service learning and cultural exchange with students at the Macchi School. El Colegio Reinaldo Macchi, founded and partially funded by two doctors (a married couple) who emigrated from Paraguay to the United States, provides full scholarships to the most talented students from the poorest neighborhoods and villages around Tobati. The school continues to give these young people a genuine opportunity to rise above the poverty that challenges their communities.
This journey offered a unique chance to explore an entirely new culture and form lasting bonds with young people from the other side of the world while making a real and tangible difference in their lives. Many of the students (and their parents) at the Macchi School had never left their village. Creating friendships with American students proved not only exciting but deeply inspiring. Numerous Paraguayan students shared that interacting with and befriending the Team Tobati participants offered a powerful glimpse of the wider world beyond Tobati and strengthened their belief in the school’s motto: “todo es posible // anything is possible.”
The 2026 Los Angeles team returned home transformed by the experience, carrying forward the lasting friendships, expanded perspectives, and shared sense of hope that define every Team Tobati journey.
