Francisco Garcia Romero Essay Competition The Francisco Garcia Romero competition is intended to get Macchi School students to develop their persuasive writing skills. Beginning in 2008, the competition presents students with an open-ended question asking for their opinions, there is no right or wrong answer. The winner of the contest is the student who best defends his or her opinion and constructs the best argument. Aditionally the Macchi School hosts a seperate competition asking the same question to students of other high schools in the region. This years competition is scheduled to take place on September 25 for the Macchi Students and October 1 for all other schools. Check back after these dates for pictures and to read the winning essays.
