Committed to Building a Better Future

Team Tobatí is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity dedicated to working with, and assisting the poor of Tobatí, Paraguay while introducing American high school students to the poverty of the developing world.

Throughout the year, Team Tobatí finances development projects that make improvements in all areas of community life. Aid projects include improving the quality of healthcare in the area, enhancing the quality of local schools, and strengthening the physical infrastructure. Team Tobatí’s privately funded Macchi School gives the poorest students in the region an opportunity to receive a rigorous top notch middle school and high school education as well as providing meals and medical services free of charge.

Each March, U.S. high school students from Kingswood-Oxford school spend two weeks in Tobatí working extensively on dozens of projects, which include the construction of classrooms and medical outposts. These young men and women see firsthand the low wages, underemployment, malnutrition, lack of formal medical attention, and the insufficient educational standards that exist throughout Latin America. The students also witness the significant improvements that can be made by working together and selflessly concentrating efforts and resources into improving the lives of the world’s poor.
