Monday, March 7

12:00 a.m. (midnight) (This is Sunday Night/Monday Morning) Team ROOKIES arrive at KO parking lot with the positive energy and joy that only youngsters can possess. Team members quickly exchange secret Team Tobati handshake and add hugs when it feels appropriate.

12:16 Team enters Hewitt Gym to enjoy informal games, snacks, songs, and jokes. Knockout will be played. Card games will occur. Anecdotes will be shared. Doritos will be eaten.

1:17 Sub-teams establish strong sub-team chants and sub-team handshakes.

1:54 Team Veterans call a players only team meeting in Hewitt. Team veterans talk to the team about key team rules, regulations, and traditions.

2:32 Team begins to load bags onto bus in preparation for departure.

3:07 Two buses carrying Team BLACK leave for JFK airport with chants of TODO ES POSIBLE echoing throughout the bus.

12:21 Travel Team STRIKEFORCE loads the team vehicle and heads off to JFK airport.

1:31 While riding the bus, some Travel Team STRIKEFORCE sing songs from their youth with voices like angels while others exchange pleasant anecdotes concerning childhood games like kickball and/or hide and go seek.

8:25 Team arrives in the Sao Paulo Airport and proceeds directly up the stairs to the international in transit section of the airport. Since the layover time is somewhat short, the team proceeds directly to our gate for our flight to Asuncion.

9:00 PM Team patiently waits in the Sao Paulo gate area. Some play cards. Some read books. Some practice their Portuguese. Some make t-shirts. Some stretch their hammies after the long previous flight.

Tuesday, March 8

12:59 AM Team arrives at Silvio Petirossi Airport in Asunción, Paraguay.

2:38 Team arrives at Central Headquarters in Tobati, Paraguay. The team does a team cheer, drinks some fantas, eats some Paraguayan snakaroos, and then proceeds to the homes of their host families.

6:45 AM (Brazilian Time) Travel Team STRIKEFORCE along with their airplane land at Sao Pablo airport refreshed after a lovely night of movie watching, joke telling, and peaceful sleeping.

7:40 After going through security in the Sao Paulo airport, Travel Team STRIKEFORCE enters their departing gate area and gathers in preparation for boarding of flight.

7:46 (Brazilian Time) Travel Team STRIKEFORCE settles in for lengthy and super intense card/board games. Mrs. Garcia teaches Portuguese to youngsters. Team bonding accelerates by the minute. Nothing unites a team like quality Sao Pablo Airport time.

9:10 AM Team RED departs on TAM Flight 0717 to Sao, Paulo Brazil (flight takes around 2 hours).
