Sunday, March 7

12:00 a.m. (midnight) (This is Saturday Night/Sunday Morning) Team BLACK arrives at K-O parking lot with the positive energy and joy that only youngsters can possess.  Team handshakes are quickly exchanged between the 55 team members traveling together to Tobatí.

12:12-1:50  Team Black enjoys games, snacks, songs, and jokes organized by team leaders. 

1:54  Team BLACK calls a players only team meeting in Hewitt.  Team veterans talk to the team about key team rules, regulations, and traditions.

3:32  Team BLACK begins to load bags onto bus in preparation for departure.

3:09  Two buses carrying Team BLACK leave for JFK airport with chants of TODO ES POSIBLE echoing throughout the bus.

5:32  Buses full of Team BLACK arrive at JFK airport and team unloads the bus with joy and efficiency.  All team members help unload the bus like Rocky Balboa training in the Soviet Mountains in Rocky IV.

6:17  Team BLACK patiently waits in line to check in bags.   Team members share anecdotes relating to kickball and/or camp.

6:29  Some young members of Team BLACK fall asleep in line like cute little fluffy puppies.

6:48  After checking in, Team BLACK eats a tasty airport breakfast dominated by edgy breakfast burritos.

7:20  After going through security, Travel Team BLACK enters their departing gate area and gathers in preparation for boarding of flight.

8:25  Team BLACK departs on TAM Flight 8080 to Sao, Paulo Brazil (flight takes around ten hours - good time to rest and visualize brick tossing).

12:00 PM  Team BLACK enjoys a tasty in flight lunch while discussing the pro’s and con’s of the in flight movie.  Desserts are shared with the hungrier teammates. 

1:32  Travel Team BLACK takes a fantastic siesta dreaming of days gone by.

2:00 PM  The 16 members of the UCONN Dental Group arrive at Silvio Petirossi Airport in Asunción, Paraguay. 

8:25  Travel Team BLACK arrives in the Sao Paulo Airport and proceeds directly to the international in transit section of the airport.  Since the layover time is short, the team proceeds directly to our gate for our flight to Asuncion.

9:00 PM  Travel Team BLACK patiently waits in the Sao Paulo gate area.  Some play cards.  Some read books.  Some make t-shirts.  Some stretch their hammies after the long play flight.

10:00  Travel Team BLACK leaves on TAM flight 8083 to Asunción, Paraguay.

11:59 PM  Travel Group Black arrives at Silvio Petirossi Airport in Asunción, Paraguay.

Monday, March 8

1:38 AM  Travel Team arrives at Central Headquarters in Tobati, Paraguay.  The team does a team cheer, drinks some coca-colas, eat some Paraguayan snakaroos, and then proceeds to the homes of their host families.

10:00 AM  All of Travel Team Black assembles at Central Headquarters pumped up to officially start the TT 2010 work season.

12:31  Travel Team RED loads the team buses and heads off to JFK airport.

1:42  While riding the bus, some Travel Group RED Team Members sing songs from their youth with voices like angels while others exchange pleasant anecdotes concerning childhood games like kickball and/or hide and go seek.

2:00 PM  Travel Team Black assembles at Central Headquarters for afternoon work.

3:00  Team RED arrives at JFK and checks in at TAM airlines.  Team RED makes sure that they’re all checked in to the correct flight from Sao Pablo to Asunción.

5:15  Team RED settles in at gate and exchanges jokes and solid anecdotes while eating M&M’s and drinking vitamin water and/or coke cherry zeros.

6:40  Team RED departs on TAM flight 8083 to Sao Pablo, Brasil.  Flight is around 10 hours.

7:00  Dinner at assigned locations (Team BLACK)

Tuesday March 9

6:45 AM (Brazilian Time)  Team RED along with their airplane land at Sao Pablo airport refreshed after a lovely night of movie watching, joke telling, and peaceful sleeping.

9:10 AM  Team RED departs on TAM Flight 8035 to Sao, Paulo Brazil (flight takes around 2 hours).

1:30 Some team members run a sports clinic for the girls of Tobati.  This clinic includes soccer and volleyball girls as well as a few surprises.

2:00  Some team members gather at Central and then take a lovely hike which includes a spectacular  view from the Tobatí mountains, a visit to the Gali Kuare cave, the “cave of fertility”, and the Ita Zapatu cave.

3:00  All other team members gather at Central Headquarters and then spend a lovely afternoon at a pool. 

7:00  Mass at church in the center of Tobati conducted by Father Adriano Avalos (Optional) 

9:00  All team members gather at Central Headquarters before walking to la discoteca for dancing and Karaoke.

Sunday, March 14

12:00 PM  Lunch at assigned locations

1:00  Entire team gathers at Central Headquarters before heading to the Artisan Collective for some shopping.

2:00  Team travels from artisan collective to the mall in Asunción for shopping dinner and then to watch a movie. 

9:00  Team returns to Tobati and goes directly to la Pizería La Farola for some ice cream and jokes.

7:30 AM Travel Team BLACK arrives at JFK airport in New York and texts their parents that they've landed in the EE.UU.

10:00  Travel Team RED takes a tour of Team Tobati 2010 projects and takes final pictures.  Students meet at Central Headquarters for final truck ride of 2010.  (Optional)

10:06  Travel Team Black arrives at Kingswood-Oxford School home of KOKO and Wyvern Nation.  Team gives an emotional good-bye to Team Tobati comrades and then drives home. 

12:00 Travel Team RED eats lunch at assigned locations

12:45 PM Travel Team RED gathers at Central Headquarters with their bags packed ready to return to the United States of America.
